Why should I see you when there are other therapists that only charge $80 or $100?
You are right. I am expensive. When you come to see me, you’re not paying for generic couples talk or a therapist trying different models. You’re investing in someone who works exclusively with relationships, holds deep training throughout many years in relational/marriage-&-family therapy, and brings the experience to cut through the noise fast. Also, most therapists only see you for 50 minutes and you get twice as much time with me (a session with me is 90 minutes).

The Value You’re Getting
  • According to research, mission-specific therapists (those who focus on exactly what they do best) tend to deliver more efficient results. For example, a study found that higher session frequency (e.g., weekly) led to steeper recovery curves in psychotherapy. PubMed
  • Studies of couple therapy show strong effectiveness when done well: around 70-75% of distressed couples move into recovery using the validated model Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and up to 90% show significant improvement. (Its actually quite interesting, here is the link
  • By choosing someone whose training and daily work are 100% relational — not generalist — you reduce the risk of “trial and error,” irrelevant detours, and slower progress. Time and money saved matters.

What This Looks Like In Practice
  • Because we skip the fluff and go straight to the relational map — identifying how you connect, disconnect, and repair — fewer sessions may be needed than average.

  • With consistent, focused work, the momentum builds. Weekly sessions upfront keep the pace brisk and avoid the “waiting” trap. Research supports that consistent weekly sessions lead to more rapid gains.

  • The premium pricing reflects: the years of experience, the intensive relational focus, and the ability to guide you further in less time.

The Return On Your Investment

Think of it this way: Every session is an opportunity not only to “talk about the problem” but to change the pattern that’s draining your time, energy and connection.
By choosing premium work now, you may avoid:

  • 10-20 additional generic sessions by someone less specialized

  • The cost of “waiting out” the problem while it deepens

  • The emotional toll of repeated breakdowns, drifting apart, and feeling stuck

In Short

You’re choosing a therapist who’s trained, tested, and tuned into the relational world — every day, all day. It is true that I cost more than generalist would charge, yes — but so is the efficiency, the depth, and the outcome potential. If you’re serious about one verdict: fewer sessions, better change, stronger partnership — this is where you land.
